As part of the recent SSEE (Society for Sustainability and Environmental Engineering) 2009 conference Geoff and I attended the Climate Code Red workshop.
The workshop built on a number of previous events, all of which asked If Australia declared ‘Code Red’ status on climate change and had to reduce greenhouse gas emissions immediately at all costs, what would we do?
This prompted some interesting debate, with the group splitting into three to develop specific actions SSEE could undertake as an organisation in the areas of technology development, public awareness and communication and transportation and infrastructure.
It will be interesting to see how SSEE with it’s limited resources attempts to put the findings into action.
